Our History

TRISTAR (formerly Tri Star Engineering Inc.) originally established in 1995 is a rapidly growing Veteran-Owned Small Disadvantaged Business with global headquarters in Bloomington, IN.  TRISTAR was acquired by Mr. Vince “Carlos” Gaitani in 2015, he had served previously as the Chief Operating Officer for the original company. Carlos stepped into the chair of Chief Executive Officer and President opening the new TRISTAR company with a fresh brand image representing a different corporate culture built fostering an employee-focused collaborative environment in 2016. Since “reopening” the doors of the new TRISTAR, the company has grown to employ over 300 employees worldwide with multiple locations.

Originally a Philadelphia native, Carlos is a Tri Star Engineering, Inc. veteran first joined the company as an employee straight from the US Navy. He proudly served 13 years in the US Navy and joined Tri Star Engineering Inc as their 5th employee in 1998 with a determination to continue supporting the US warfighter. He worked for Tri Star Engineering, Inc. 19 years and served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer before leaving in 2013. Carlos was a member of the executive team for ten years, playing a critical role in developing the company’s growth strategy. The company was organically grown in Southern Indiana and located in Odon, IN and operations were relocated to Bedford, IN in 2000 to better support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division base.


Carlos first joined TRISTAR as a program manager 1998, and it was quickly apparent he was poised for bigger things. He could build connections with a variety of leaders and individuals across the company and DoD. He possessed a combination of technical skills and great human leadership capabilities.

Carlos went on to serve in a variety of roles, both in the field and at the corporate office. In 2005 he pushed himself and the company to take risks opening offices currently in Arlington, VA, San Diego, CA and Virginia Beach, VA to better support their Navy customers and expanding the company’s footprint.

TRISTAR competencies include electronic warfare, information technologies and cyber security, technical Services, cyber Intelligence and command/control programs, radar system restoration, sustainment and modernization, special operations support with customers spanning the Department of Defense including Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Centers, Naval Air Warfare Center Command, SPAWAR, Army, Air Force and Fleet activities. No matter which customer we are supporting, our priority is to assure affordable readiness and support always.

We develop leading edge concept of operations (CONOPS), emerging sponsor-specific and joint tactics, technics and procedures (TTP) and have the ability/experience to develop responses to Combatant Command (COCOM) and higher-level data calls in a time sensitive manner in support of the Warfighter.
